City’s Austerity-Bot Explains Budget Cuts, Knows Neither Love Nor Beauty

10 November 2011 2 Comments

To help you understand some of the cost cutting measures the city is currently considering to keep the municipal tax hike at 4.5%, we introduce Austerity-Bot 2K11. Refresh the page to learn about what 2012 could look like.

These are all actual cost-cutting measures currently under consideration (jokes added, obviously). They still have to be discussed and approved by city council, and there will probably be a lot of changes made. For a complete list, see this document. Cuts are listed starting on page 17. Hopefully the final list of cuts doesn’t look like this, because it would be a pretty depressing and brown future indeed.

Thanks to Mike Kendrick for the robot illustration. Check out more of his art here.

Hat tip to Tim Adams, whose tweet gave me the angry robot visual.
